Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons are just the beginning! Enjoy whitewater rafting, swimming, hiking, and strolling through beautiful Jackson, WY, before travelling on to Mount Rushmore, the Black Hills, and Badlands National Park. Participate in a fossil hunt, visit the Mammoth Graveyard, and take in the sights, sounds, colors and shapes of a simply fascinating landscape.

Day 1: SALT LAKE CITY TO GRAND TETON NATIONAL PARK: You begin your tour along the western slopes of Utah's Wasatch Mountains, crossing the historic Oregon and Pony Express Trails. Arriving mid-afternoon at the Tetons, you will enjoy a ferry boat ride across beautiful Jenny Lake. Your first day is then capped off with a covered wagon ride to dinner and a wild-west show at Bar-T-5.
Day 2: GRAND TETON & YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARKS: Moose, bald eagle, deer and elk are just some of the native wild life that you may encounter on your scenic smooth-water float trip at the base of the Grand Tetons. You will also tour reforestation areas from the Great Yellowstone Fire of 1988. Finally, we will visit Old Faithful Geyser and enjoy supper at the Old Faithful Lodge.
Day 3: YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK: This morning begins with a board walk across the most active thermal area in Yellowstone: Norris Basin. Here you will see thermal features including geysers, steam vents, mud pots, and mineral pools. After lunch, you are treated to breath-taking views of Yellowstone's Canyon, with views of the Upper and Lower Falls. Next we traverse Hayden Valley with an excellent chance to spot Yellowstone's Bison herd. Then late afternoon, we follow the Yellowstone River to Lake Lodge, where we have supper.
Day 4: YELLOWSTONE NP, CODY & THERMOPOLIS, WY: After a scenic drive along the north shore of Yellowstone Lake, we enter prime grizzly bear country, where you stand an excellent chance of spotting one of these magnificent creatures. And if that hasn't made your morning, perhaps a white-water rafting trip down Shoshone Canyon will. For lunch, we step back in time at the Irma Hotel, built over 100 years ago. Afternoon stops include the Buffalo Bill Historical Center and the Star Plunge Waterpark, fed by the world's largest hot springs.
Day 5: MT. RUSHMORE & BLACK HILLS NATIONAL FOREST: We begin this day climbing the Wyoming Scenic Byway, which takes us through the Bighorn Mountains of north-central Wyoming. After lunch in Buffalo, WY, we head out over the historic Powder River Basin. By mid-afternoon we enter the Black Hills, visiting perhaps the most famous monument in America, Mount Rushmore. Other stops include Crazy Horse Monument.
Day 6: BADLANDS NATIONAL PARK & WALL, SD: Day 6 begins in Wall, SD, where for generations of families in route to Yellowstone have stopped to stretch their legs and quench their thirst at the old-fashioned Wall Drugstore. Today, the area of town known as Wall Drug is a tourist attraction you won't want to miss. After lunch, we begin a photo tour of the fascinating and unique landscape of Badlands National Park. Your guide will lead you on a fossil hunt, during which your group will find authentic million-year old fossil specimens.
Day 7: CUSTER STATE PARK, MAMMOTH GRAVEYARD & OREGON TRAIL SITES: We exit the Black Hills through beautiful Custer Sate Park, home of one of the largest free-roaming herd of Buffalo. After lunch, we stop at Mammoth Graveyard and sites along the Oregon Trail.

Day 5: WYOMING DINOSAUR CENTER, SOUTH PASS CITY & OREGON TRAIL SITES: You begin your final day with a visit to the Wyoming Dinosaur Center, where you can see fossilized remains of dinosaurs recovered in Wyoming. After lunch, we stop at South Pass, where the Oregon Trail crossed the Rocky Mountains. Following the Oregon Trail, we drive through the Green River Valley and then descend into Utah.
